When Lola confesses her crush on Mohammed, Adeola does what best friends do: she listens, sympathizes, and helps her pick up the pieces when he doesn't feel the same way. Months later, Adeola finds herself growing closer to Mohammed. Uneasy about what it could mean for her friendship, she asks Lola a simple question: What if Mohammed liked me? Lola says it wouldn't be a problem and Adeola believes her. She shouldn't have. What begins as an unexpected romance soon becomes a painful unraveling of friendship, loyalty, and the unspoken rules that govern the people we love. Bad Friend is a poignant novella about friendship, betrayal, and the question that lingers after some relationships end:
When a friendship falls apart, does someone always have to be the villain?
