Love can cross an ocean. But can it survive the truth?
Jack Emmanuel Nwosu is a young Nigerian poet who believes that the deepest things in life are often impossible to explain—so he writes them down instead.
Then he meets Leslie Margaret Carter.
She is older than him, lives across the Atlantic, and is raising three children of her own. What begins as an unlikely connection slowly becomes something neither of them expected: love.
But distance is not the only thing standing between them.
As Jack and Leslie grow closer, strange messages begin to appear. Old photographs surface. Jack's poems attract the attention of people he has never met. His best friend disappears. And a mysterious phrase—LOVE IS LEVERAGE—forces Jack to question everything he thought he knew about the people around him.
When Jack's family becomes entangled in a dangerous mystery involving an abandoned railway, a forgotten prison entrance known as Gate 17, and a prisoner whose identity was erased from official records, love becomes more than a matter of the heart.
It becomes a matter of survival.
Caught between fear and faith, truth and secrecy, Jack must decide whom he can trust—and how much he is willing to risk for the people he loves.
But the greatest question is not whether Jack and Leslie can overcome distance.
It is whether love can survive when the truth finally arrives.
The Crazy Thing Called Life is a powerful story of love, loss, family, mystery, faith, and the choices that shape who we become. Moving between Nigeria and America, it explores the fragile space between destiny and free will—and the courage it takes to keep choosing hope when life refuses to make sense.
Because sometimes the road ends.
Sometimes you have to build a bridge.
And sometimes, the greatest act of courage is simply choosing to continue.
