She was hiding. He was drawing. They were both falling.
Every Tuesday at 7:43 AM, Maya Chen sits in the corner of The Grind House, hides behind a dusty fake ficus, and pretends to read. She's not reading. She's watching the mysterious artist by the window—the one with the battered notebook, the charcoal-smudged fingers, and the eyes she's never quite seen.
Every Tuesday at 7:52 AM, Leo Park draws the girl in the corner. He's too shy to say hello, so he captures her in charcoal instead—page after page, sketch after sketch. He knows the curve of her cheek, the way her hair falls over one eye, the tiny frown between her brows. He knows everything about her except her name.
For six months, they exist in the same space without ever speaking.
Then one crowded Tuesday, Maya's seat is taken. Leo does something he's never done before.
He points to the empty chair across from him.
And everything changes.
The Last Seat is a heartwarming, slow-burn romance about two lonely artists who discover that love doesn't require grand gestures—just a quiet table, a shared coffee, and the courage to finally say hello.
Perfect for fans of The Love Hypothesis and Beach Read—but with extra caffeine.
